Superintendent's Corner

Superintendent’s Corner

It’s such a pleasure to see the students back in the classrooms and watching them enjoy their new teachers, classmates, and the changes in their school environment. I am so excited to be a part of a district where academic achievement is such a focus. As Mrs. Hagel shared with you previously, the following facility enhancements have been completed over the summer months thanks to the “sinking fund” approved by members of our community in 2009.

  • New lockers at Montague, Moore and Pinehurst
  • New bus lane at Montague for the safety of our students
  • New drinking fountains and plumbing at the Junior High
  • Complete renovation of EAJ’s auditorium
  • Auxiliary gym and weight room at EAJ have been upgraded
  • The sound system in the gymnasium at EAJ has been replaced

Thanks to the parents, students and the entire school staff, the 2010-11 school year is off to a great start and is running smoothly.  The “sinking fund” facility improvements have also been a contributing factor in the smooth transition.

In view of today’s economy and the ever present need for educational reform, there is no greater time for the educators and the parents to form a partnership.  Preparation begins with the parents and guardians.  Make children a priority of your lives, now and in the future.  Stay involved from their elementary years all the way through those challenging teen years.  Educators must be able to overcome frustrations the legislative demands often place on us and stay true to the calling when we devoted our lives to this profession.  Together we can carry out the business of building futures. All of these things work together to serve one single purpose; to create every opportunity for the students to be successful learners.

Please feel free to visit the Mt. Morris School District facilities; you will be as proud as we are!  Thank you for your continued support of our schools.
